California Builder Services (CBS) is a specialized consulting firm serving land developers, homebuilders, and HOAs throughout California. From entitlement through close-out, our team delivers expert analysis, financial structuring, and project coordination tailored to the complex requirements of California real estate.

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Budget Analyst with a strong eye for detail and a passion for real estate development to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position at our Clovis headquarters, offering the chance to work on a variety of real estate projects across the state.

The Role

As a Budget Analyst at CBS, you’ll play a critical role in preparing detailed budgets for residential subdivisions, HOAs, and large-scale development projects. You’ll interpret technical documents, review maps and plans, collaborate with developers and public agencies, and analyze cost data to support accurate financial planning.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in estimating, construction takeoffs, real estate development, or finance who’s looking for a stable, long-term role in a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs from site plans, architectural drawings, and tract maps
• Review project documents (legal descriptions, CC&Rs, engineering plans)
• Compile and validate cost data from bids, public agencies, and other construction sources
• Develop phasing schedules, assessment maps, and reserve funding plans
• Prepare budget deliverables and supporting documents for city, county, and state filings
• Track project timelines, documentation, and communication with stakeholders
• Work closely with project managers to ensure financial accuracy across multiple projects

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in budgeting, cost estimating, real estate development, finance, or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Math, Finance, Planning, or related discipline (strongly preferred)
• Working knowledge of development plans, site layouts, and project phasing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data-driven reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and time management in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication skills and a professional, client-facing demeanor
